Tom Hanks has reportedly refunded two cinema-goers who were disappointed with his latest film, Larry Crowne.
The movie star struck up a conversation with the couple while at a petrol station near his home in Pacific Palisades, California.
When he learned that they were less than happy with the film, he compensated the couple with $25 (£15).
The pair told Hanks that they thought he film "wasn't that good", with the 55-year-old star allegedly replying:
"Gee, I'm sorry you were disappointed, how about letting me refund your ticket money?"
Hanks starred in and directed Larry Crowne, which sees the main character attempt to reinvent himself by going back to college after losing his job.
The film, which was released back in July, also stars Julia Roberts as Crowne's love interest.
