Halloween needn't cost you a fortune. Almost all supermarkets do their own range of costumes and goodies for adults and children alike, so you never need to pay £30 to hire a costume at an over-priced fancy dress shop again!

Party treats
Try your local Sainsbury's for spooky Halloween decorations. They've got light up pumpkins for £4.99, strings of pumpkin lights for £5.99 and hanging characters for £1.99. When it comes to food, Marks and Spencer have got sweet treats from just 59p, along with skull and witch cookies for 99p and witches fingers for £1.49.

Dressing up
This is where the supermarkets really come into their own. All of the major chains have great Halloween costumes in at the moment, so get shopping!
At Marks and Spencer you can get a child's pumpkin costume, with hat; grim reaper outfit with scythe; spider witch outfit; or a skeleton pirate outfit for £10 each. For the adults, there's a witch's hat headband for £5 and full witch and vampire costumes for £20 each.
There's also 50 per cent off Halloween costumes at Tesco, with outfits from just £2.50.
Asda has everything from wigs to pumpkins and there's also 20 per cent off kids Halloween costumes.
Trick or treat
Make sure you have some ghoulish goodies to hand out to your trick or treaters or you could end up on the wrong end of a trick! There are plenty of offers around to ensure you are fully stocked.
Asda's offering bags of Halloween-themed Haribo sweets for £1 each, alongside Cadbury's Scream Eggs - a scary twist on the Creme Egg - and tins of Roses, Quality Street and Celebrations for £8 each, or 2 for £10. It's better to overbuy, and just think, you can eat what's left over!
