Great Britain's greatest staycations: The top 25 best family days out in the UK

Fish and Chips on Blackpool Pier was voted best family day out in Britain.

A recent poll conducted to identify UK’s 25 most enjoyable, technology–free fun days, has revealed that eating fish and chips on Blackpool Pier is the best family day out in the country.

 

Cream tea in Devon, a picnic in the Lake District and getting lost in the maze at Hampton Court Palace were amongst the top 10 greatest family activities.

 

In the top 20, playing Pooh Sticks at 100 Acre Wood, East Sussex and visiting a honey farm were included. 

 

The survey, which was compiled by VisitEngland with a Winnie and Pooh theme, reveals how today’s 40 and 50 somethings choose to spend their lazy summer days out when they were growing up. The poll that was participated by 2,000 adults revealed that the fondest holiday memories cost very little like fossil hunting, picking blackberries, and stargazing. 

 

Half of Brits say that the best times they had were holding hands with mum or dad for a long walk, enjoying a picnic, and building sandcastles.
