Once again, a British artist took home the most coveted best album award at this year’s Grammys. Mumford & Sons collected the big prize, which Adele won last year.
This year the Grammys are anything but predictable. Experts agree that it has been an odd year for music without dominant trends or artists. The Grammys span such a wide musical base, from jazz to hip-hop. However, Mumford & Son’s managed to break free and stand out from the crowd.
The Grammys was definitely full of scene-stealers. Justin Timberlake made a huge comeback with a slickly choreographed big-band theme production; Jay Z contributed to the world of rap; then, Rihanna, Sting, Bruno Mars together with Ziggy and Damian Marley gave an amazing reggae performance that is definitely hard to beat.
What makes this year’s Grammys ultra special was a well-behaved crowd with an atmosphere as reverential as a church service. It was hard to ignore that guests and nominees followed a strict dress code that stipulated no breasts or buttocks.
