Chris MartinÂ’s Coldplay have been revealed as the Saturday night headliners for Glastonbury.
The band were strongly rumoured to be performing at this yearÂ’s festival but now the reports have been confirmed.
According to The Sun, they will take to the Pyramid stage on the Saturday night for the first time since 2005.
However, rockers The Rolling Stones have reportedly turned down an offer to play the festival, despite Glastonbury boss Michael Eavis negotiating with their management for over three months.
A source revealed to The Sun that:
“Getting the Stones to Glastonbury has been high on Michael Eavis' list of priorities for a long time. He came really, really close this time round.
“He came up with an incredibly tempting offer and Mick and the rest of the band were considering it closely but they ultimately decided to turn it down.”
This year’s Glastonbury will be held at Worthy Farm, Pilton and will run from 22 – 24 June.
