After pleading guilty to driving while under the influence, singer George Michael has been jailed for eight weeks.
The former Wham! frontman crashed his car while stil feeling the effects of cannabis.
The 47-year-old was arrested in July in Hampstead, north London after driving his Range Rover into a Snappy Snaps photography store. Police found cannabis on his person.
August saw the singer be given a six-month interim driving ban after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and possessing cannabis. He was warned then that he may face imprisonment.
In May 2007, he admitted another charge of driving while unfit through use of drugs at Brent Magistrates Court in London.
The singer is best known for his work as part of pop duo Wham! Michael went on to forge a highly successful career as a solo artist with hits such as 'Faith'.
