Kristen Bell, who plays the voice of Princess Anna of Arendelle, has confirmed that Frozen 2 has been written.
Discussing the highly anticipated animated movie while promoting her new film The Boss, she said: "We're just about to [start recording].
"They've just written it, and they're still doing tweaks, but I think we shall be recording this month.
"The story is great and they exude quality, and what I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out."
"And that's why it took them so long for them to even announce that we're doing a second one."
She added that Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck (Frozen's screenwriters and directors) took a while to announce the sequel because they wanted to "figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging" to audiences.
Meanwhile, Frozen the musical has been confirmed.
Disney's chief operating officer Tom Staggs said: "As you know, a sequel of Frozen is in the works.
"In the meantime Disney Animation is creating the first ever Frozen television special, which will air on ABC during the 2017 holiday season, and in the tradition of Lion King and Aladdin, we have a new Frozen musical slated for Broadway in 2018."
