For two consecutive days, dense fog had caused problems on roads and rails across the United Kingdom. Commuters were told to expect delays and longer journey times as the visibility was very poor. Some train journeys were canceled while airports reported delays.
A yellow warning for fog was issued by the Met Office for the East Midlands, East of England, London and South East England, South West England and West Midlands.
The Met Office said: "Dense fog patches will affect parts of eastern, central and southern England this morning.
"We aware of the potential for difficult driving conditions with slower journey times.
"Fog patches have formed again overnight, with visibility reduced to 50m in places.
"Much of this denser fog will clear by mid-morning, though a few patches may linger into early afternoon."
Meanwhile, the fog turned out to be an incredible opportunity for photographers, with many of them shared stunning photos of UK’s landmarks affected by the fog.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Any fog will be slow to lift through this morning.
"Some brightness will develop by midday though and we should see sunny spells through this afternoon.
"Under any clear spells we could see fog patches tonight. Towards dawn low cloud will arrive from the north, bringing the risk of hill fog and drizzle too."
