Fleetwood Mac has been on tour since April and on Saturday, they played in Amsterdam. However, the band decided to cancel tour dates in Australia and New Zealand after it was revealed that bassist John McVie is suffering from cancer.
The band took to Facebook on Sunday to apologise to their fans. Band mates Mick Fleetwood, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks said that they hoped fans "will join us in wishing John and his family all the best."
The statement added: "John McVie, one of the co-founding and original members of Fleetwood Mac is now scheduled to be in treatment for cancer during that period of time.”
Liz Rosenberg, the band’s spokesperson did not specify the type of cancer McVie was receiving treatment for.
Meanwhile, the rock band famed for hits including Go Your Own Way, Dreams and Little Lies is still scheduled to perform a concert in Las Vegas on December 30.
