There has been a fire at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi. As a result of the blaze breaking out, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport was closed, as confirmed by the Kenya Airports Authority.
It is understood that the fire broke out early on Wednesday morning, 7th August.
Based on reports, it is not known what caused the fire, as of time of writing. No injuries have been reported.
The emergency services attended the situation.
The airport is the main international airport in Nairobi. Following the incident, it is understood that the airport had to reroute inbound flights.
It is believed the blaze is now under control, as referred to in one report by the BBC.
Nairobi is the capital of Kenya, with Kenya being situated in East Africa. Africa is surrounded by the Atlantic and Indian Ocean.
