Fern Britton is reportedly taking a short break from 'This Morning'.
The 48-year-old star is said to have signed a deal to host new ITV entertainment show, 'Soapstar Superstars', and will be taking a few weeks off from the popular daytime TV show for filming.
While Fern is away, Ruth Langsford will take her place beside 'This Morning' co-presenter Philip Schofield.
'Soapstar Superstars' will feature budding actors and actresses vying for a TV career in the same style as singing talent shows 'Pop Idol' and 'X Factor'.
Fern will host the programme, while television personality Cilla Black is expected to be one of the judges.
The show will be 62-year-old Cilla's TV comeback following a lengthy break from the limelight.
An ITV source is quoted in Britain's The Sun newspaper as saying: "We are really pleased we've been able to borrow Fern. 'Soapstar Superstar' is a big show for us."
