Colin Farrell's wild lifestyle is being kept in check by the director of his latest movie.
Farrell, famed for his drink and drug habits, is preparing to start filming the big screen adaptation of 80s TV show 'Miami Vice', which is being directed by Michael Mann.
The 'Heat' director is not willing to accept the Irish heartthrob's current poor physical condition and has told him to curb his bad habits and get into the gym.
He said: "Colin is going to gain about 15 pounds of upper body weight."
The Irish bad boy plays detective Sonny Crocket, the character made famous by Don Johnson, in the crime-caper.
Farrell will star alongside Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, who plays detective Ricardo Tubbs, and Mann is concerned about both men's hell raising reputations.
Mann, who directed Foxx in action blockbuster 'Collateral', is taking precautions so the pair's behaviour won't affect shooting.
He said: "I need a budget for a bail bondsman - for both of them."
