Shooting Stars has been cancelled by the BBC.
The outlandish panel show, hosted by comedians Bob Mortimer and Vic Reeves, has not been recommissioned for a ninth series.
Mortimer announced the news on Twitter, telling fans:
"BBC have just cancelled Shooting Stars."
A BBC spokesperson confirmed the news in a statement:
"In future there will be less space on BBC Two for comedy/entertainment panel shows so sadly Shooting Stars won't be returning.
"We'd like to thank Vic and Bob for everything they've brought to the channel over the years."
The programme made an unexpected return to BBC Two in 2009 with six episodes, after a seven-year long hiatus.
Original team captain Ulrika Jonsson returned, alongside score keeper Matt Lucas, who stepped down from his role as George Dawes during the revival. He was replaced by actor Angelos Epithemiou.
However, the show was dogged by falling ratings which eventually signalled the end for the once popular 90s show.
