England looked set for a win after the first half of the game on Tuesday night in Montenegro, but hopes were dashed as the opposition pulled back the score to end the game on a 1-1 draw. This was England’s latest feat for the 2014 World Cup, where they hoped to come out on top with a win against their competitor.
It was Wayne Rooney who bagged the first goal in the first six minutes of the game, after narrowly missing a chance when he sent the ball overhead in the opening minutes of the match - hitting the post.
The footballing ace seemed happy to have got his team off to a good start, and the game seemed to be played out well for the next 45 minutes.
The second half however led to England fans being on edge as Montenegro looked dangerous – nearly sending the ball to the back of England’s net on several occasions.
It was when one of Montenegro’s shots slipped by keeper Joe Hart that they deservedly ended the game with a 1-1 draw.
The match on Tuesday night was played in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
