England beat Brazil for the first time in 23 years on Wednesdaynight by winning 2-1 at their national football stadium, Wembley.
Manchester United player Wayne Rooney scored the first goal, making it his 33rd goal for England, with Chelsea team member Frank Lampard scoring the second goal in the second half of the match.
But it was Jack Wilshere, the 21-year-old, who plays for Arsenal, who claimed man of the match. The midfielder had recently suffered from an ankle injury, but he put on an excellent performance during the game.
This was to the delight of the England fans. But the sell-out stadium also seemingly witnessed a blunder from Gary Cahill, aged 27, who is a defender for Chelsea and for England.
England manager Roy Hodgson was reportedly pleased with the way the game went. And Ashley Cole was welcomed by football fans on the night after winning his 100th cap.
The night also saw one minute silence being held in memory of the Munich Air Disaster; where a Manchester United football team among others tragically lost their lives in 1958.
England last beat Brazil at football in 1990, with Gary Lineker heading the ball into the net to secure a 1-0 win.
