Hollywood police ordered Elton John to shut down his post-Oscar party.
Officers gave the singer - who hosts one of the most lavish unofficial events at the annual ceremony - a curfew, despite other celebrations going on all night.
Sheriff's Sergeant Timothy Louis confirmed: "The city told Elton John's party to close down at 1 a.m.
"Hey, this is Hollywood. I would let it go until 4 a.m."
Meanwhile, the singer raised more than $3 million for the AIDS Foundation at the celebrity gathering.
More than 2,000 guests sang along to 'Rocket Man' at the flamboyant singer's 14th annual Academy Awards bash.
On stage, Sir Elton - sporting gem-encrusted eyeglasses, diamond necklaces and a five-carat emerald cut earring - was joined by pop star John Legend.
