Elton John launched a bitter tirade at Cannes Film Festival photographers saying they "should all be shot".

The 'Rocket Man' singer was presenting an award to 'TransAmerica' star Kevin Zegers on Friday (19.05.06) when he lost his temper and lashed out.

He was talking about what a talent Zegers was when a photographer shouted out to him, causing Elton to lose his cool.

Elton fumed: "I'm talking... you f**kwit, f**king photographers you should be shot, you should be all shot. Thank you."

After handing the award to a smiling Zegers, Elton added: "They are a nightmare."

The 'Candle In The Wind' singer - who married long-term partner, David Furnish last year (05) - is well known for his frankness.

Madonna and George Michael are among the celebrities who have felt the force of the flamboyant star's sharp tongue.

Recently British TV viewers complained when he swore during a talk show on Channel 4.
