Former Eastenders star Shaun Williamson has said that life on Albert Square has become too violent since his departure and admitted that it has put him off watching the soap.
The 40-year-old actor, who played long-term loser Barry Evans in the show, also bans his three children from watching the soap because he thinks there is too much sex and violence in it, the Sun reports.
Shaun, whose own character came to a violent end in the soap after scheming screen wife Janine pushed him off a cliff, is now working in the more serene world of the theatre, starring in Saturday Night Fever.
"EastEnders is on when I put the children to bed," the actor said.
"I dont know if I would tune in anyway, its got more and more violent recently."
"I certainly wouldnt let my kids watch it."
