EastEnd Archie Mitchell returns

The Mitchell family's torment is far from over in EastEnders as the villainous Archie Mitchell is set to return.

Archie, played by Larry Lamb, was forced to flee Albert Square after his newly wed wife Peggy and her family disowned him for his deceitful ways.

An insider said: "Who knows how Archie will return to Walford? He left a lonely, broken man who had lost his whole family due to his cruel lies and manipulation.

"He walked away leaving a path of devastation for the Mitchells which will be felt around the Square for many weeks to come."

The source added: "Will he come back a reformed character desperate to rebuild his family again? Or will he cause yet more upset and mayhem for the Mitchells?"

On the wedding day Archie's twisted web of lies unravelled which resulted in the controversial death of his daughter Ronnie's (Samantha Janus) biological daughter, Danielle Jones.

Peggy, played by Barbra Windsor, gave her son Phil (Steve McFadden) a direct order to kill Archie after the incident, but Archie was only told to leave the Square by stepson Phil who kidnapped him and tied him to a chair.

However, it seems Archie will ignore Phil's order to never come back. Catch him back in the Square in the summer with a couple of bombshells for his family.
