Fans of the hair brain vigilante brothers Bo and Luke Duke, who, with their beautiful sister Daisy in tow, make up the Dukes of Hazzard, have something to smile about again as the leading parts have been cast in a film adaptation of the 1980s series.
Undoubtedly bolstered by the healthy box office and DVD popularity of Wilson and Stiller's nostalgic nod to the era's leading buddy-cop show Starsky and Hutch, a host of z-list celebrities once linked to the Dukes of Hazzard production have now been jettisoned.
And while the eminently watchable Jonny Knoxville of Jackass fame and Sean William Scott, better known as Stifler to a generation of beer swilling frat boys, are not yet among the TinselTown elite, the pairing promises much more than a number of earlier suggestions which included the dire Paul Walker and Ashton Kutcher.
According to US magazine People, producers Warner Bros are remaining tight-lipped on the casting of other key roles in the Hillbilly homage despite rumours abound that MTV's Newlyweds airhead Jessica Simpson could be set to fill the denim hotpants once amply occupied by Catherine Bach.
Also cast into the rumour mill is Burt Reynolds, who after enjoying a mini-career revival for his pre-eminent turn as adult filmmaker Jack Horner in PT Anderson's Boogie Nights, could do with another hit.
The self-professed ladies man and star of such classics as Deliverance and Smokey and the Bandit has been linked with the part of villainous big shot Boss Hogg.
