Charlie Stubbs, played by Bill Ward, is to marry Sally Lindsay's character, Shelley - that much is for sure.
But in a novel move for soap scriptwriters, two eventualities have been drawn up for Coronation Street's latest nuptials although neither has been confirmed as the likely outcome.
A show insider told the Sun that the two contrasting endings have been shot to keep secret "one of the biggest plots for a long time".
The insider said: "With so many people against the wedding - particularly Shelley's mum Bev - it is bound to be dramatic and may or may not go ahead.
"We don't want anyone leaking the details so only a minimal amount of people will be given them."
Shelley has become a quivering wreck in recent weeks following Charlie's continued verbal abuse and sneaky cheating tendencies.
But whether or not this gives any clue as to the exciting plans in store is uncertain.
"We know plots get out one way or another, but we are desperate to keep this secret," the insider added.
