The sales for Apple Watch have dropped sharply since its release. According to recent reports, the sales of Apple’s latest product is 90per cent less compared to when it was first introduced to the public. In April, Apple was selling 200,000 units a day, a number that has now dropped to less than 20,000.
Apple has refused to release official sales report.
Meanwhile, Slice Intelligence gathered data by collecting electronic receipts sent to email addresses following a purchase. Aside from the huge drop in sales, the data also shows that two-thirds of the sales have been the cheapest Sport version that costs £299.
However, Slice Intelligence’s statistics on other wearable technology shows that Apple is still selling far more smartwatches than its competitors. In fact, the only competition Apple has is from the Fitbit fitness trackers.
"If you clear away the distraction of cheap FitBit fitness trackers and look at actual smartwatch competitors to Apple Watch, you'll see even in Slice data that Samsung — the primary smartwatch vendor, with several models that are all cheaper than Apple Watch and years of experience in trying to sell them — is barely a blip on the sales chart," wrote the Apple-focused tech site Apple Insider.
