Disney has confirmed two Star Wars theme-parks alongside its current parks in the United States during the D23 Expo fanfest in California on Saturday. Fans can expect the ambitious project, which will stretch over two 14 acre sites, to take them to a galaxy far, far away.
Disney chief executive Bob Iger, said: "We wanted to bring 'Star Wars' to every corner of our company... Not only on screens but in real life," he said "We are creating a jaw-dropping new world that represents our largest single-themed land expansion ever,"
"These new lands at Disneyland and Walt Disney World will transport guests to a whole new Star Wars planet, including an epic Star Wars adventure that puts you in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance."
The new theme parks will be built alongside Disneyland in Anaheim, California and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orland, Florida. Both will feature the Cantina, the smuggling bar made famous in episode IV: A New Hope.
