Cameron Diaz is Julie Andrews' top choice to play nun Maria in a remake of classic musical 'The Sound Of Music'.
Dame Julie, who played Maria in the popular movie, says the blonde beauty would be perfect as the singing nun tasked with caring for the seven Von Trapp children.
The pair grew close while providing voices for animated movie 'Shrek 3' - and Julie says she would love Cameron to take over her famous role in a theatrical version of the film.
The 70-year-old star was asked who she would like to see play Maria at a question-and-answer session to mark the musical movie's 40th anniversary.
Dame Julie also revealed she has always felt lucky to have landed the role in the 1965 film.
She is quoted on Britain's BBC website as saying: "There are hundreds of other ladies who sing just as well or better than I do and I was the lucky one who got asked."
Julie's announcement follows rumours Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber may be planning a reality TV show to cast a remake of 'The Sound of Music'.
