Desperate sex scene leaked

A steamy sex scene from the new series of 'Desperate Housewives' has been leaked onto the internet.

Executives have insisted the bedroom scene - featuring Marcia Cross' character Bree Van De Kamp and newcomer Kyle MacLachlan - was not an official trailer release from ABC, the studio which airs the show in the US.

Producers of the hit US TV series have launched an investigation to find out how the scene appeared on popular internet site YouTube.com.

A spokesman for ABC told industry newspaper Daily Variety: "We are looking into the unauthorized clips of 'Desperate Housewives' on YouTube, and will be having them taken down."

The one-minute clip features Bree and her new lover Orson in bed, and the prudish widow is refusing to participate in oral sex.

Bree says: "I don't do that. I'm a Republican."

Orson replies: "I'm a Libertarian. I believe in minimizing the role of the state and maximizing individual rights. Trust me, I know what I'm doing."

The third series of 'Desperate Housewives' will air in the US later this month.
