Johnny Depp wants former Rolling Stone Keith Richards to appear in a sequel "Pirates Of The Caribbean".

After being nominated for an Oscar for his performance as Jack Sparrow in the swashbuckling smash-hit Depp reportedly wants to thank his inspiration.

Depp's portrayal of Captain Sparrow was based his belief that pirates were the rock stars of the day - so he would act like a rock star on camera.

He chose Richards as the rock star to act like.

According to ITV Depp wants to give the Rolling Stones guitarist full credit.

"Johnny was slightly embarrassed by all the praise for Pirates because he was really just being Keith," a friend of the film star told ITV.

"A good way of thanking Keith would be to get him to do a walk-on in the sequel."
