Five of the six suspects linked to the Delhi gang rape incident were formally charged with kidnap, gang-rape, and murder of a woman in Delhi, India. The 23-year-old victim was raped last month and died last weekend due to injuries from the December 16th attack.
The sixth suspect is believed to be 17 years old. Authorities have reportedly ordered bone marrow tests to confirm his age.
The Delhi gang rape has led to public anger. Protests have been held since the incident.
Protesters are not only asking for justice for what happened to the young victim, but are also calling for stringent anti-rape laws. They say that women across India are frequently subjected to sexual assault and harassment.
Adding that crimes against women are not thought to be taken seriously, and that supposedly the conviction rate is very low.
According to reports, the 23-year-old victim went to see a film with a friend and boarded a bus before the rape took place.
