Dawn makes new friends

Lucy Davis, who played Dawn in "The Office", is to work with former Friend Lisa Kudrow in a new show.

While a plotline for "The Office" saw Dawn de-camp to the states, in real life Lucy has been lined up for an American sitcom.

The Sun has reported that she has just signed up for the role.

She will work with Aisha Tyler, who played Ross's palaeontologist girlfriend Charlie in "Friends", in a show produced by another "Friends" survivor Kudrow.

Davis, who plays Hayley in Radio-soap "The Archers", is staying tight-lipped about her part, but said: "It's exciting to have so much work and so many offers coming in."

Davis, daughter of comedian Jasper Carrot, had her US profile raised after "The Office" won two Golden Globes in January.

She said: "I find it odd that American producers know who I am before I meet them. I wanted to have a go at cracking America so that I don't regret not having a go when I'm older."
