Following the news on Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement from his post as manager at Manchester United, and after much speculation as to who may fill his shoes, Everton’s manager David Moyes is to take his place, it has been confirmed.
David Moyes, aged 50, has been handed a contract by Man U and is expected to be the new red’s manager from the start of July, after the Everton football season ends.
This news comes after Sir Alex left many fans shocked on Wednesday, 8th May, by his announcement that he will stand down as Man U manager at the end of the football season.
David Moyes has been with Everton for over a decade, and reportedly he came recommended for the job at Old Trafford.
David Moyes said: “I have had a terrific job at Everton, with a tremendous chairman and board of directors, and a great set of players.
“Between now and the end of the season, I will do everything in my power to make sure we finish as high as possible in the table.”
