David Beckham may have been nicknamed ‘Goldenballs’ but his new statue for the H&M underwear campaign is in gleaming silver.
The huge silver statues of the football star are now scattered all over New York, Los Angeles, and San Francisco, proving to everyone that Beckham is indeed larger than life.
The statues were unveiled at the same time as the black and white campaign photos of Beckham were released. While the statues portrayed a clean, polished physique, the photos showed off Beckham’s tattoos. The photos were shot in LA by photographer Alasdair McLellan. Beckham himself posted the photos on his Facebook page, with the caption: “Hey everyone, here are a few shots from my new Bodywear range for H&M. Hope you like them.” Thousands of fans ‘liked’ and commented on the photos on the football star's social network page.
The new campaign showcases Beckham’s new range of men’s underwear manufactured by H&M. As he enters the fashion industry, it’s clear that he’s taking a few pages off his wife Victoria’s book.
He also promoted his new line in a statement: “I am so excited about this new campaign for David Beckham Bodywear at H&M. I wanted to express the strength and quality of the David Beckham Bodywear collection with these images and also the wearability and fit. I love the range and feel so comfortable in each of the pieces.”
“It has become a second nature for me to wear it.”
