Danny Dyer made a scene at TV Choice Awards when he grabbed TV baking queen Mary Berry by the neck. He appeared to lean in to kiss her full-on before the 79-year-old Bake Off judge accepted the peck on the cheek and brushed him off. The star of The Business then launched a foul-mouthed rant towards the audience.
One witness said: “Danny’s behaviour towards Mary was unacceptable. He may have thought he was messing around but Mary did not look at all impressed.
“You just cannot put your arms around any woman like that, let alone TV royalty.”
Earlier, the 37-year-old EastEnders actor received the award for Best Soap Actor. That time, he attacked the awards host David Mitchell. He said “Is this mine?” referring to the award. But comedian Mitchell could not hear. Dyer then growled: “Is that mine without your f****** script? Good, thank you.”
Referring to EastEnders boss Dominic Treadwell-Collins and the rest of the soap cast, Dyer added: “Thank you anyone that voted for me, I really appreciate it. Dom, all you mob, I’m f*** all without my family. I love you all.”
He then turned to Mitchell again saying: “He is f***ed without his script, giving it the big-un. Go and look at your f***ing script, Mr Mitchell.”
Meanwhile, the EastEnders spokeswoman explained: “Anyone at the awards or seeing the video will know that all his comments were made in good humour.
“Danny and the rest of the cast had a great night celebrating their wins which was all the more special for Danny as he won his first Best Actor award.”
She added: “With regards to Mary Berry, Danny did affectionately give her a kiss on the cheek. He is a big fan.”
