Danny Boyle to direct “Babylon” for Channel 4

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is stated to direct a new cop drama entitled Babylon for Channel 4.

Oscar-winning director Danny Boyle is set to return to television after atleast 10 years. It has been confirmed that he will direct a new police drama entitled Babylon for Channel 4.

Channel 4 boss, Jay Hunt, confirmed that the pilot would go into production in 2014. Writers are the duo behind the university-set Fresh Meat; Jesse Armstrong and Sam Bain.

Boyle, who has strong connection with Channel 4, was the one who directed the Olympic opening ceremony for the London 2012 games. Channel 4’s film division, Film4, is the producer of Slumdog Millionaire, which earned Boyle his Oscar for Best Director.
