Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are planning to wed at George Clooney's Italian villa next month.

The 'Top Gun' actor and former 'Dawson's Creek' star are said to have decided to tie the knot at the luxury £1.4 million pad on the shore of Lake Como after holidaying there last weekend.

It is believed Katie, 27, and Tom, 44, opted for an Italian wedding because they were in Rome when they confirmed their relationship with a very public kiss on the set of 'Mission: Impossible III'.

According to local newspaper reports, the date for the big day is November 23 and the ceremony will be conducted by a local mayor.

Yesterday (15.10.06) a source said: "Kate had looked at various hotels but the venue is set to be George Clooney's villa."

The couple - who have a five-month-old baby daughter, Suri - are also rumoured to have purchased one of the three properties Clooney owns in the Northern Italian village of Laglio for £3.5 million.

Clooney often invites his Hollywood pals to spend time at his villa. Previous guests include Brad Pitt and his partner Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon and Richard Gere.
