Craig Charles leaves I'm A Celeb jungle after brother's shock death

Coronation Street Star Craig Charles was told of the death on Thursday morning in Australia.

Coronation Street Star Craig Charles has left I’m A Celebrity right after he was told his brother Dean has died of heart attack.

An ITV spokesperson said: 'Craig decided to leave the IAC camp earlier today [Thursday] and will be heading back to his family the UK. We send our sincere condolences to Craig and his family.'

Meanwhile, his ex-wife Karen told The Sun: 'It's a shock. He was always fit and healthy. Craig will have to leave the jungle after this.'

A source explained why the production team had to wait to break the news. He said: 'We took the decision not to shock Craig and wake him in middle of the night and will inform him of the sad news when he wakes up.

'He will be allowed to do exactly what he wishes.'

Craig becomes the second campmate to leave the show prematurely after TOWIE star Gemma Collin’s exit on Wednesday.
