Simon Cowell has signed a new £100m mega-deal with ITV to keep X Factor and Britain’s Got Talent on television until 2013.
ITV has renewed its contract with CowellÂ’s Syco Entertainment and FremantleMedia, guaranteeing another three seriesÂ’ of the reality TV shows.
The deal is also reportedly worth another £20m to the TV boss if he signs an additional personal appearance contract.
Speaking about the deal, Simon said:
“I am thrilled this deal has been concluded with ITV to enable our relationship to continue to develop. I am committed to making sure both shows get bigger and better every year.
“I have a lot to thank ITV for; they have been key in making The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent the UK's biggest television shows.”
This deal ends speculation that the music mogul may pull out of appearing on the shows to concentrate on the US series of the X Factor, which launches next year.
It has been confirmed that BritainÂ’s Got Talent will return in spring 2011 and X Factor will be back for a new series in its regular autumn slot next year.
Both shows are the UKÂ’s most popular entertainments programmes on television; their series finales both scoring over 19m viewers.
