Coronation Street co-stars Alan Halsall and Lucy-Jo Hudson have fallen in love, the Daily Mirror claims.

Alan, 21, who plays hapless mechanic Tyrone Dobbs and Lucy-Jo, 22, who stars as Martin Platt's young lover, Katy Harris, have reportedly been trying to keep their romance a secret.

But ITV bosses have now admitted the young actors are together, having reportedly fallen for each other before Christmas, after sharing a kiss at a Corrie do.

"Yes, they are an item and everyone is delighted for them," an unnamed Corrie source told the Mirror.

The paper claims the soap stars started to raise eyebrows after being seen together a number of times at Alan's home in Boothstown, Manchester.

"They've done their best to keep it quiet and that has meant them coming and going to the studios separately to avoid wagging tongues," the source added.

The pair are the latest Corrie stars to become romantically involved in an off-screen romance.

Nikki Sanderson, 20, who plays hairdresser Candice Stowe, is currently dating on-screen love, Danny Young, 18, who plays footballer Warren Baldwin.

Tina O'Brien, 21, who plays Sarah Louise Platt in the show, has also been dating co-star Ryan Thomas, 20, (Jason Grinshaw) for almost a year.
