Coronation Street's killer Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien) isn't done with violence on the street just yet.
The con was sent to prison for killing love rival Liam Connor (Rob James-Collier) and trying to drown whistle-blowing cafe-owner Roy Cropper (David Neilson).
But he is intent on having revenge on his ex Carla (Alison King) and hatches a plan to escape from jail, enlisting the help of a recently released ex-con Robbie (James Fleet - best known as the bumbling Hugo Horton in the BBC sitcom 'The Vicar of Dibley').
Tony starts a fight with an inmate and when the warders try to separate them, he feigns a heart attack.
With Tony on his way to the hospital, Robbie holds up the ambulance by gunpoint and escapes with Tony on a motorbike and heads straight to an unsuspecting Carla.
