Legendary comedian Ronnie Corbett has hit out at modern comedians who rely too much on offensive humour.
The Two Ronnies star told the Radio Times:
"I don't see the requirement to upset people. YouÂ’re there to entertain and please. WeÂ’d never do anything tasteless."
Even Little Britain which Corbett guest starred in doesnÂ’t escape his criticism:
"David [Walliams] and Matt [Lucas] are bold, funny, and imaginative, but I thought some of their characters wee'd or were sick too much.
"ThereÂ’s enough to make fun of without offending. Our comedy was light-hearted amusement that seemingly tripped naturally off the tongue. ThatÂ’s why I don't think it will date."
Corbett will next star in ITV's Ronnie CorbettÂ’s Comedy Britain, where he is set to meet comedians whose work he enjoys.
Miranda Hart will feature in the two-part series, alongside Matt Lucas, David Mitchell, Michael McIntyre and John Cleese.
