Matt Damon worked as an undercover cop to research his new movie.

The sexy star got hands-on experience in drug and gang busting after joining the Massachusetts police.

Damon's cop stint started after signing up to new movie 'The Departed'.

Sergeant Daniel Risteen said: "We showed him frisk tactics and patdowns.

"He seemed like he had a pretty good working knowledge already. Things weren't going over his head."

On the last day of his three day workout, Damon watched from an unmarked police vehicle as detectives arrested three suspects and recovered $1,000 in drug money.

The Hollywood heartthrob will star alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Nicholson in legendary director Martin Scorsese's film, released next year.

Meanwhile, Matt says he was left stunned after a female fan told him she pleasured herself while watching his movies.

The 'Oceans Twelve' star, who is dating interior designer Luciana Barroso, says he was shocked when the woman revealed her intimate secret while he was out with friends.

He said: "One girl told me and said, 'You know, I never thought you were hot at all. But then I saw 'The Bourne Identity' and touched myself non-stop for a month.'"
