Justin Lee Collins, famous for ‘The Friday Night Project’, and ex-girlfriend Anna Larke, parted ways but things aren’t over. The TV presenter is now being accused of assault and harassment.
Collins appeared in court on September 26th where the jury, composed of nine women and three men, heard serious allegations against him.
Prosecutor Peter Shaw claimed that Collins harassed and abused his ex-girlfriend during their nine month relationship.
In a report by The Sun, Mr. Shaw is quoted as saying: “The main part of that relationship was characterised by this defendant exerting control over her, verbally abusing her and physically assaulting her.”
“Significantly, Mr. Collins resorted to compiling a dossier in the form of a Pukka Pad notebook.
“The purpose of the notebook was to list every sexual experience with every one of Ms Larke’s previous lovers or partners.
“He would ask her questions and then write it down."
But at Thursday’s court hearing Collins’ defendant lashed back at the former flame, accusing her of being a “fantasist”. Larke has denied this accusation.
The prosecutor had suggested that Collins was “insistent” that his girlfriend was to “sleep facing towards him". It was revealed that if the comedian awoke to find his lover was facing away from him in bed at night, he would allegedly wake her and criticise her.
There was also the claim that the comedian abused his ex-girlfriend physically, on one occasion having apparently lost his temper and “slapped her in the face”.
Collins denied most allegations but confirmed he slapped Ms. Larke to calm her to avoid harming herself. He also claims that Ms. Larke was the one who was possessive during their relationship.
The stars defendant Sonia Woodley QC, claimed Larke continually texted Collins following their split. And Larke claims the bruises as a result of his slap were not shown to her doctor because she didn’t want to hurt Collins, as reported by the Mail Online.
She said: “He was the love of my life.”
Other aspects of their life together have been revealed in court, with reportedly Larke being jealous of other women and Collins allegedly forcing her to dispose of DVD’s over concerns his ex would fancy the actors.
