Tinsel town's Irish wild boy, Colin Farrell could soon be swapping Phone Booths for bottles of fake tan and slip-on loafers following rumours that the youngster has landed a lead role in the forthcoming movie remake of the 1980's cop classic, Miami Vice.
Well known for their fabulous '80s fashion, the cops clad in white suits, James "Sonny" Crockett and Ricardo Tubbs are tipped to be played by Farrell and American actor, Jamie Foxx.
Universal are apparently in negotiation with Farrell and Foxx to play the dynamic duo whose golden-brown tans and fancy footwear followed Miami's drug gangs around town for a total of 114 episodes in the eighties.
Played by heartthrobs of the era, Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas, the original show attracted 15 Emmy award nominations.
After spending hours trapped in a phone booth under the watchful eye of a psychotic killer, Farrell will be well positioned for the role of Sonny Crockett who lived on a boat heavily guarded by his pet alligator, Elvis.
