Coldplay have best "f***ing songs"

Coldplay star Chris Martin thinks the band's latest album has the best "f***ing songs" he has ever written.

The singer claims the tracks on the latest album, which has been delayed for release twice, are the best the group have produced and doesn't think they will ever be able to top them.

He said: "We've got some f***ing good songs. That's one thing we are sure of. I don't think we'll top this. I always say that, but this time I really mean it. I really don't think we'll top it."

However, despite being pleased with the final result Martin, who is married to Hollywood beauty Gwyneth Paltrow, admits the songwriting process has been a grueling process this time around and took its toll on the band.

He added: "Writing is what we've been doing all day, every day. It's been quite turbulent. We've been through a lot of songs and a lot of sounds, a lot of studios. It took us a long time to realise the four of us should go into a rehearsal room again and play together rather than rely on technological assistance."
