Coldplay announce tour

Band to play five stadium gigs next summer...

Coldplay have announced plans for a 2012 UK tour.

The band will play five stadium shows in four cities across the country - Coventry, Sunderland, London and Manchester - in May and June 2012.

They have also revealed that details of a North American leg and further European gigs will be announced soon.

The band, whose fifth studio album Mylo Xyloto went to the top of the UK charts when it was released last month, will also be touring Europe next month, supported by Marina and The Diamonds and Emeli Sand.

Coldplay's summer 2012 stadium shows are as follows:

Tuesday, 29 May - Coventry, Ricoh Stadium
Friday, 1 June - London, Emirates Stadium
Saturday, 2 June - London, Emirates Stadium
Thursday, 7 June - Sunderland, Stadium of Light
Saturday, 9 June - Manchester, Etihad Stadium

Tickets start at 49.50 and go on sale Friday November 18 at 9am.
