Robot tech firm Sphero has launched another robot designed to teach children to code. Sphero is the same company that made the SPRK robot controlled by a smartphone app, which is now being used by a number of schools as an educational toy.
The new robot, called Sphero SPRK+ comes with the same programmable flashing lights and sensors as its predecessor and few improvements such as improved Bluetooth connection and a more scratch-resistant shell. It is also shock-resistant and comes with accelerometer and gyroscope within its polycarbonate shell.
"Learning is evolving and we are seeing a transition from consumption to creation in the classroom," said David Millage, General Manager of Education at Sphero.
"Our robots are being used to teach everything from art to physics in a fun and hands-on way that engage students on a new level."
The Sphero SPRK+ comes with a price tag of £99.99.
