Church better than Ross

Charlotte Church has declared she is a better chat show host than Jonathan Ross - despite being smashed in the ratings by her rival.

The 'Crazy Chick' singer managed an audience of only 1.7 million for the second episode of her new Channel 4 series show, while the first episode of Ross' latest run raked in 4.3 million viewers.

However, Charlotte, 20, insists she doesn't consider the BBC's 'Friday Night with Jonathan Ross' as competition.

She said: "As far as I'm concerned Jonathan is the best in the business - apart from me!

"I've been interviewed by Parkinson, Frank Skinner, and loads of others but Jonathan is the tops. He is witty, funny and very charming - and he swears more than I do.

"But our shows are very different and target a different audience. I don't think he's got anything to worry about."

Ross wowed viewers with a spectacular first show, with a diverse range of guests, including 'Office' creator Ricky Gervais, actress Julie Walters and 'Big Brother' couple Pete Bennett and Nicky Grahame.

On her show, Charlotte - who pulled in an audience of 3.8 million for the debut episode of her programme, which also features comedy sketches and live music - chatted to 'Emmerdale' star Patsy Kensit and Ruby Wax.

Ross recently signed a three-year deal with the BBC for his hit chat show, for a reported £18 million.
