The continuing saga of Dirty Den's demise continues this week as things hot up for husband killer Chrissie.

First she asks new beau Jake to move into the Vic with her, but his suspicions over her part in Den's death lead to a showdown and she admits the truth to him.

Having been privy to Andy's murder at the hands of Johnny, Jake sticks by the curly haired landlady and the two hatch a plot to sell the pub and runaway together.

An attack of conscience almost scuppers this though, as Chrissie heads for the police station to confess all - luckily Jake catches her just in time and convinces her to go ahead with the getaway plan.

The sale of the most sought after little earner in the square, the Queen Vic, sparks some competition as Peggy attempts to win back part of the crumbled Mitchell business empire and Johnny makes an offer having figured out the reason for Chrissie's hasty departure.
