Archaeologists have discovered pyramid-shaped tomb in Zhengzhou, Henan Province in China. The ancient burial site has been described by residents as ‘magical.” Although the structure is much smaller in size than real pyramid in Egypt, Chinese media have dubbed the tomb the ‘pyramid of Zhengzhou.’
Aside from the pyramid-shaped tomb, another tomb shaped like a half cylinder was also found by staff from the Zhengzhou Cultural Relics Bureau.
A resident told a local reporter: 'This is truly magical. I've never seen anything like this. It looks like an Egyptian pyramid.'
Further analysis is yet to be carried out to determine how old the tomb is, who the owner was and why it was built. However, a guard at the excavation site said that the tomb could be more than 2,000 years old.
Meanwhile, experts said that it is not uncommon to see pyramid-shaped tomb
in the region. According to Henan Cultural Relic Bureau, such tombs appeared after the Han Dynasty and were often built with bricks.
