China sends warplanes to disputed airzone

Media reports confirmed China’s move to sent warplanes to disputed zone which include a groups of islands called Senkaku by Japan.

China has sent warplanes to disputed zones that are also being claim by South Korea, Japan, and Taiwan. The Chinese government said that all planes transiting the zone are required to file flight plans and identify themselves or face “defensive emergency measures.” However, Japan, US, and South Korea have all since flown military aircraft through the sea. 

 

US flew unarmed B-52 bombers through the zone announced on Tuesday. 

South Korea's Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se, on the other hand, said that China’s latest move made "already tricky regional situations even more difficult to deal with".

 

On Thursday, Japan's top government spokesman, Yoshihide Suga said: "Even since China has created this airspace defence zone, we have continued our surveillance activities as before in the East China Sea, including in the zone.

"We are not going to change this [activity] out of consideration to China.” 

Meanwhile, South Korea and China has failed to reach any agreement following talks on the zone on Thursday.
