Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt split because the handsome actor "cheated" on her, it has been claimed.

The former 'Friends' star has reportedly dismissed claims the couple's four-year marriage imploded after a series of arguments over starting a family.

Aniston has lifted the lid on the real reason for the split in a forthcoming interview in US magazine Vanity Fair.

She claims she was convinced Brad, who is reportedly enjoying a full-blown romance with his 'Mr and Mrs Smith' co-star Angelina Jolie, was having an affair.

A source told America's New York Post newspaper about the upcoming interview: "She has said she did want babies with Brad and that starting a family wasn't the issue. The issue was Brad cheated."

Aniston is also said to be furious over the recent photos featuring Brad and Angelina posing together as husband and wife.

The source added: "She is appalled by the 'family photos' coming out in magazines."

The pictures show the Hollywood stars as a perfect 1960s American couple to promote their movie 'Mr & Mrs Smith'.

Brad and Angelina are seen lounging in a garden while 'their' three children splash in a pool for the 60-page feature in America's W magazine.
