Charlize's stress ulcers

Charlize Theron's latest movie gave her stomach ulcers.

The Oscar-winning actress says working on action movie 'Aeon Flux' was so stressful she developed the painful stomach condition.

But Charlize - who was taught acrobatic fighting skills and gymnastics for the sci-fi movie - thinks it was worth it.

She revealed to MTV: "This film was nerve-wracking and that remained with me every step of the way. I now have stomach ulcers."

But stomach ulcers were not the only problems Charlize encountered while working on the movie.

She narrowly escaped being paralysed when she fell off a trampoline while performing a reverse somersault in platform shoes - injuring her neck and back.

Her boyfriend, actor Stuart Townsend, said at the time: "The slipped disc went almost into the spinal cord. She's fine, but she could have been in a lot of trouble."

In the movie, which is set centuries in the future when a plague has wiped out most of the population, the stunning actress plays a commando rebelling against the government.
